I’ve always wondered how easy it is for someone to end a relationship. Reading about celebrity breakup every time I pick up ‘The Bombay Times’, it’s curious to know whether it is all a publicity stunt or are they are just helpless puppets of the glitzy glam world. My heart goes out to them especially when they are forced to act brave about the incident and prove the world that they are moving on now. The pain of the heartbreak is not the same for everyone. And this applies to ordinary people too! Not everyone can be T-Swift and write record breaking breakup songs every time he/she has an aching heart.
There are so many ways to be brave in this world.
Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for someone else.
Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater.
But sometimes it doesn’t.
Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life. That is the sort of bravery I must have now
– Tobias Eaton (Allegiant)
But is it not possible for everyone. There sure are times, when you wish we could end all this pain, wish that this no longer hurts, wish that you never remember it again.
Does that make you a coward? Maybe yes! But what if that’s what you need the most…
Amnesia is one such songs, I hear when I want to reflect back on matters that hurt me most. It makes me feel that it’s okay to not be strong sometimes, it’s okay to be hurt, it’s okay to cry over it! We can’t be brave always, it’s a process and it will take its own time.
It’s been told with lovers POV, it describes the singer’s relationship with a girl who has moved on from his life, but he still finds it difficult to get over her. But, according to me, this song hold true for any relationship per se. When something ends, it’s difficult to make peace with the fact that its over. It is more hurtful to see that everything around you is changing and adjusting to the fact that its over , but you are still there! Not a move from you, your brains still can’t register the impact of the loss; and worse you don’t know whether it was all just a bad dream!
Sometimes I start to wonder, was it just a lie?
If what we had was real, how could you be fine?
‘Cause I’m not fine at all
‘5 Seconds of Summer’ is a rising band on the Billboard charts. The four boys stand as a strong competition to their rivals like One Direction, The Vamps and The Weekend. For more information, ask your teenage daughter, she probably shall babble more about them.
‘Amnesia’ is so far approved by me. More reviews from 5SOS yet to come!
